Overseas visitors can now travel to Cyprus for tourism purposes. They must meet all standard entry requirements and follow any extra COVID-19 rules.
Tourists should check the specific policies that apply to them before organising travel to Cyprus.
Cyprus COVID-19 entry requirements
Cyprus has additional entry restrictions for travel during COVID-19. All international arrivals must follow these measures, or risk being refused entry into Cyprus.
All overseas visitors must complete a Cyprus Flight Pass before they travel. This is a mandatory requirement for everyone.
Other COVID-19 requirements for Cyprus depend on the vaccination status of the passenger and the country they are travelling from.
Vaccinated arrivals to Cyprus
Individuals who are fully vaccinated against coronavirus can enter Cyprus from any country without any restrictions. They must be vaccinated with an approved EU COVID-19 vaccine.
Vaccinated Cyprus tourists must prove their vaccination status with an official certificate, such as the EU COVID-19 Certificate. The document must state that the holder received the last dose of a coronavirus vaccine at least 14 days before arriving in Cyprus.
Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers to Cyprus
Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated arrivals face stricter requirements than those who are fully vaccinated.
The specific rules depend on the country the visitor is arriving from. The Cyprian government has an official list of countries, organised by risk-factor into 3 categories:
- Green Category
- Red Category
- Grey Category
Green Category restrictions
Unvaccinated arrivals from Green Category countries must have proof of a negative COVID-19 test result. The COVID-19 certificate for Cyrus must show one of the following:
- PCR test within 72 hours of departure
- Antigen test within 24 hours
Children under the age of 12 are exempt from the test policy.
Red Category rules
Visitors who are not fully vaccinated and are arriving from a Red Category country must follow the same procedure as Green Category countries.
In addition, they must take another PCR test on arrival at the airport. Passengers must cover the cost of the test.
Grey Category requirements
Only certain people can enter Cyprus from a Grey Category country. This includes:
- Nationals of Cyprus and their family members
- Residents of Cyprus
- Citizens of the EU, EEA, and Switzerland
These passengers must follow the same restrictions as Red Category countries. They must also:
- Self-isolate for 7-10 days
- Take a PCR test on day 7
Cyprus Flight Pass for tourists
One of the main COVID-19 measures for Cyprus is a Travel Health Certificate—the Cyprus Flight Pass. The requirement must be followed by all international arrivals, regardless of their vaccination status or country of origin.
How to complete the Cyprus Flight Pass
The health certificate for Cyprus must be completed within 48 hours of departure. Travellers can complete the form quickly and easily online before their trip.
Before starting the application, passengers must create an account for their Cyprus Flight Pass. They can then complete the form by providing basic information, including:
- Personal details
- Flight information
- COVID-19 certificate (vaccine or test)
Applicants must make a legal declaration and then submit their request. The approved document is then sent to the passenger’s email address.
Travelling with the Cyprus Flight Pass
Visitors to Cyprus will be asked to show their completed Cyprus Flight Pass during boarding and at immigration once they arrive.
The document can be shown on a mobile device or as a paper copy. Travellers are advised to carry both to avoid any unexpected delays.
Passengers should remember that the Cyprus Flight Pass is a mandatory COVID-19 travel document. Without an approved Flight Pass, tourists cannot travel to Cyprus.
