International travel to Spain is now possible from many countries. The state of alarm has been lifted, and all eligible passengers must now follow the current entry requirements set by the Spanish government.

Is Spain open for travel?

Overseas visitors can now travel to Spain for any purpose, providing they follow the latest entry requirements.
Current restrictions require all passengers to have some form of COVID-19 passport to enter the country, such as proof of vaccination, recovery, or a negative test.

Spain is open for tourism again, and visitors from all over the world are allowed to visit for leisure purposes and non-essential travel.
All tourist information points and attractions are open, as well as restaurants, bars, and cafés. Visitors can enter as usual, with some restrictions.

Foreigners travelling from a banned country to Spain will not be allowed to board a flight. Spain’s country ban is on nations considered high-risk areas.

Spain has other regulations in place to protect public health, such as mandatory mask wearing in enclosed spaces, and reduced capacity at some locations and events.

Travel restrictions to Spain
All passengers arriving to Spain must meet the specific entry requirements for their nationality or place of residence.
Following Spain’s COVID-19 safety measures, all overseas visitors are required to show additional documents to enter the country. Passengers must have at least one of the following:
- Negative antigen test, taken no more than 48 hours before arrival
- Negative NAAT test, taken at most 72 hours before
- Vaccination certificate
- Proof of recovery from the virus

EU COVID certificate
Along with other EU countries, Spain uses the EU digital COVID certificate as its main type of COVID pass.
Anyone with an EU COVID certificate can use this to enter the country. It can then be used in Spain wherever a pass is required, such as indoor events.
Spain Travel Health Form
In addition to a COVID-19 certificate, all passengers must show a completed travel health form for Spain — the FCS form.
The travel health certificate is a mandatory document which has been introduced by many countries as part of their coronavirus entry policy. The form helps authorities to monitor the health status of visitors, and contact passengers who could be at risk of infection.

Travelling with the FCS form
After a traveler has entered all of their details into the system, they will receive an email with the completed form.
The document has a QR code which must be scanned at check-in and border control. Travellers can show the QR code in a paper copy of the FCS, or on a mobile device. A mobile device is preferable, as the code is easier to scan.
