The BHV is not a visit visa. Foreign nationals who require a visa or other documentation for the Bahamas should contact the embassy.
Who needs a health visa for the Bahamas?
Visitors from all countries need to apply for a Bahamas Health Visa. This includes passengers arriving from the United States.
The Bahamas Health Visa is required regardless of how long the traveller will stay in the country, or their reason for visiting. A BHV application must be made before each trip to the Bahamas.
Only nationals and residents of the Bahamas are exempt from this COVID-19 requirement.

Bahamas Health Visa requirements
These are the basic document requirements to apply for the Bahamas Health Visa application:
- Valid passport
- Negative COVID-19 test result
- COVID-19 vaccine certificate (when applicable)

Passengers should fill out the application form before having the COVID-19 test. The test certificate can be uploaded 24 to 72 hours before the trip to the Bahamas.

Requirements for fully vaccinated travellers to the Bahamas
Fully vaccinated travellers need the following documents to apply for the Bahamas Travel Health Visa:
- Negative COVID-19 test result
- PCR or Rapid Antigen Test (RAT)
- No more than 3 days before arrival
- COVID-19 vaccination certificate
- Completed at least 14 days before arrival
- Approved vaccines for the Bahamas
Fully vaccinated visitors are not required to complete the Daily Health Survey for the Bahamas.

Requirements for unvaccinated travellers to the Bahamas
Travellers who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 need:
- Negative COVID-19 test result: PCR Test (RAT not accepted) no more than 3 days before arrival
Unvaccinated passengers need to complete the Daily Health Survey.
Bahamas Health Visa requirements for children
Travellers of all ages, including children, need a Bahamas Health Visa.
Passengers aged 12 to 17 are subject to the same requirements as adults, which depend on their vaccination status.
Children aged 2 to 11 can take a RAT test instead of a PCR test, regardless of vaccination status.
Travellers under the age of 2 do not need to take a COVID-19 test for the Bahamas.

- Passport details: country, passport number and it’s issue and expiry date
- Travel information: date of arrival, date of departure and accommodation details
As the COVID-19 test must be taken in the 3 days before arrival, travellers should fill out the application form with these details before having the test. The test result can be uploaded at a later date.
Is the Bahamas open for travel?

Travellers with an approved Bahamas Health Visa do not have to quarantine on arrival.
